On 17-18 November 2022, Kirovsk town hosted the annual conference. Top managers of mining companies, leading experts of the Russian and foreign businesses, representatives of R&D institutes attended the event.
The participants discussed the challenges related to the Arctic Mine Facilities in the new development paradigm.
Managers of JSC 'Apatit', JSC 'Olkon', JSC 'NWPC', and other companies shared their experience in solving import substitution issues caused by the disrupted supply of heavy mining equipment, spares and chemical agents required for dressing processes of the companies.
For a number of enterprises, the difficulties they have encountered, are associated with the absence of spares and chemical agents’ analogues on the Russian market or with their extended lead time.
Many contractors exited Russia leaving entire business lines without support. However, some suppliers have stayed and have good results.
At the conference, Evoblast Group was represented by Director for Strategic Development S.P. Mozer. He talked about maintaining the quality of drilling and blasting operations in the environment of import substitution.
The presentation focused on the import substitution of chemical components for emulsion explosives and replacement of electronic detonators. In both areas, Evoblast has achieved a significant success in searching for alternatives to suitable chemical agents, that are sometimes even better than their foreign analogues. The key topics of the presentation were hole-charging in the underground mining operations, special features of the emulsion explosive for upholes, technical characteristics of emulsion explosives for stoping, and the results of industrial tests under the import substitution program.
During his presentation, the speaker answered questions regarding research and development of technological solutions.
The conference attendees emphasized that Evoblast has unique technologies that are potentially useful in the Russian market.
